Júlio Alves

JÚLIO ALVES (Lisbon, 1971) is a director. His filmography consists of 16 films divided between fiction, documentary and experimental genres. Among his most recent works are Don't Look Away (2026), Dialogue of Shadows (2021), The Art of Dying Far Away (2020), Chantal + Pedro (2020) and Sacavém (2019). All his films had national and international premieres. He holds a PhD in Communication Sciences and a master’s degree in Film Studies and is a lecturer at the Lusófona University. He is also a member of the Centre for Applied Communication Research, Culture, and New Technologies (CICANT).
