Marķa Rojas Arias

María Rojas Arias is a filmmaker, visual artist, and producer. She holds a Master's degree in Film and Multimedia Art from KASK Conservatorium University College Ghent (2021, Belgium). She was selected as a filmmaker for Berlinale Talents Berlin. Her film ABRIR MONTE (2021) was awarded the Short Joy prize at Ji.lhava International Documentary Film Festival and Best Short Film at the Valdivia International Film Festival and Kinoforum Brazil. Her films have been included in curated film programs and exhibitions, such as the Thailand Biennale - Cinema for All Pavilion (2024), the Museum of Modern Art in Paris (2023), ICA London (2022), Art Lincoln Center NY (2022), La Fototeca de Havana, Cuba (2022), Hangar Lisboa (2022), and TEA Espacio de las Artes Tenerife (2020). She was a MacDowell Fellow in 2024.
