Susana de Sousa Dias

Susana de Sousa Dias, 22-1-62, Portuguese.

Her work explores the dialectic between history and memory, questioning regimes of visibility with a focus on the archive. She received the Grand Prix Cinéma du Réel and the FIPRESCI Award for 48. In 2012, she formed a women’s collective that directed Doclisboa for two editions, opening sections such as Cinema of Urgency and Passages (Documentary & Contemporary Art). Her films have been screened at festivals and art institutions like the Berlinale and MoMA. She was Guest of Honour at IDFA 2025.
